Below is a small municipal surveillance implementation example where all cameras record to 2 separate offsite locations for extra redundancy and security. Note that while all cameras record offsite to another location only those city departments and individuals that have been given proper authority can view cameras from that specific location.

FIRE STATION

(All Cameras Record Both to City Hall & Police Station) (Live and recorded video can only be viewed by the Fire Chief and other authorized fire department employees - the Fire Chief has also authorized 2 police officers to view live video on ONLY the external, parking and Entry/Exit cameras - the Truck Bays and other internal cameras can only be viewed by authorized fire department personnel)

Truck Bays | Other Internal Cameras | External Cameras

Parking | Entry/Exit Points

POLICE STATION

(All Cameras Record Both to City Hall & Police Station) (Only authorized Police personnel can view the police station cameras. No other city department has been given authority to view the cameras. Note that this can change if the police chief would like to authorize an individual from another department to view a specific camera or cameras.)

Cells | Entry/Exit Points | Parking | External Cameras

Interrogation Room | Police Vehicles

CITY HALL

(All Cameras Record Both to City Hall & Police Station) (The mayor and other authorized city hall employees can view all cameras. The mayor has authorized the Police to view all live and recorded video as well. Note this can change as well depending on which departments or individuals require access to specific live or recorded video feeds.)

Meeting Room | Entry/Exit Points | Parking | External Cameras

NOTE that in the scenario above investigations can be performed on the video evidence from any location: The Fire Station, Police Station or City Hall. All recorded and live video is available at any of the locations to the departments and individuals that have the authority to view it. The chief of police could be at the police station and pull up video from the city hall, police station and fire station simultaneously. The chief of police could be at the fire station or city hall and use his/her credentials to log in and view the police station, city hall or fire station cameras from that location as well. The ability to pass credentials through the entire system gives departments & individuals the ability to perform their duties regardless of location and facilitates efficiency and ease of use throughout all municipal areas.

Let Digi Surveillance Systems help streamline your municipal systems so you can operate more efficiently ...with better video evidence, better video management and better performance city wide.
